Re: Help for a quiz

Bad luck Eoin - sounds a close-run thing. I would just focus on your own learning and not try to ape your departing team-mates too much - everyone brings different specialities to the table. But on history it could be worth (for British history certainly) seeking out something like Bamber Gascoigne'...

Re: Friday night quizzing in London

In a word, no. The QuizList website is a reasonably comprehensive listing of London pub quizzes but you'll see from http://quizlist.com/london-quizzes/friday/ that the list for Friday is very short (and no guarantees either of these will be extant - you'd need to ring them). In about 10 years of pub...

Re: Mixed Martial Artists and Ultimate Fighting Championship

Chris, thanks for that. The BBC demarcation is a pretty good attempt between separating what are, and are not, "major sports" for UK purposes. (Personally I'd move rugby league down to the "minor sports" list, and move athletics up.) I think there's a strong case that, in every s...

Re: Mixed Martial Artists and Ultimate Fighting Championship

Often referred to as GSP, which Canadian mixed martial artist who is the current Welterweight Champion of the UFC? I got it as well without any memory of having known his name. Dang, I didn't spot the significance of those initials at all, and might have had a successful stab at it had I done. I'll...
