'Fraid not, John.
Rather more prosaic.

I'm not sure if this is much more prosaic, but members of the Belgian parliament?
Re: Continuous Quiz: News
Not that either, I'm afraid.
The answer is the Women's Institute - citing the "Mary Berry" effect, with many new recruits wanting to learn more about baking etc.

Re: Continuous Quiz: News
Old news now so the answer is Storm Thorgerson. I will try another one:
Why will a footballer (whose surname sounds like a resident of Nelson Mandela House) be more gutted than usual about missing a 94th minute penalty earlier today? I am pretty fed up about it as well.

That'll Brentford player Trotter(?) who hit the bar with his penalty, only for it be cleared down the other end where Coppinger scored for Doncaster to seal automatic promotion for them in place of Brentford. Oh how things can change in 17 seconds! And what a difference a couple of inches makes!
I know how you feel David, I was there to see my team lose a play off final to Doncaster, although Coppinger didn't score that day.

So it wasn't a bad dream then. The player is Marcello Trotta - hard luck over the play off final. What worries me is that the Bees do not even usually make it to the final in play offs. They have yet to go up through the play offs. Who is your team Pete?

Re: Continuous Quiz: News
Well David, there are 2 schools of thought in that situation ... (1) the stats don't lie; (2) all runs must come to an end sooner or later. Let's hope it's the latter for the Bees sake. Mind you, the Championship is horrifically difficult these days.
My team is the universally loved Leeds.
Anyway, I feel we may be boring the rest of the forum, so I'll go away & think of a suitable question.

Re: Continuous Quiz: News
This is no longer in the news really, but it was back then.
The answer is F Scott Fitzgerald, to tie in with the release of The Great Gatsby.
I thought I'd better post before I forgot the answer!
Free baton anyone?
