Saturday 3rd October sees us back at the National Conference Centre adjoining the Motorcycle Museum, almost midway between Birmingham and Coventry, close to Solihull and Birmingham's International Airport. This venue proved so popular back in May 2015 we jumped at the opportunity for a quick return.
Note: The naming of this GP is intended to help distinguish it from the May 2015 event. When you arrive at the conference centre you will find the signs within directing you to the 'Solihull Quizzing Grand Prix'.
Daytime Schedule
11.00 Registration (if not done via PayPal)
11.30 Individual Quiz
13.00 Marking
13.45 Lunch
15.00 Team Quiz
16.30 Prizes
16.45 Hot 100 & Answers
17.45 Close
I should say we are going to try and shave 15 minutes off the lunchbreak if we can. This will bring all later timings forward a little. This is to assist masochists who are desperate to get home in time for the kick-off of England vs. Australia.
Entry: £25, lunch provided, £12.50 for first time attendees.
There will be a hot meal provided in the form of curry/chilli and rice.
While not at all mandatory, it will greatly assist us if you could make payment prior to the event via PayPal. You don't need to even have a PayPal account to make a payment. Just visit the paypal.co.uk website and click on the "send money" button. The address to send it to (when asked for our e-mail address) is payments@quizzing.co.uk. Thanks!
Getting to the venue
The National Motorcycle museum is located on the south east side of the roundabout above the intersection of the M42 motorway and A45 dual carriageway about 1.5 miles south west of the train station at the Birmingham International Airport (direct line from London and Birmingham).
For those of you coming by car, parking is free on site at the conference centre, which adjoins the museum. You should come onto the site off the roundabout, there is a barrier/kiosk where you should ask for the conference centre – you will be directed left and told to park on the far side of the car park, next to the entrance to the conference building.

Re: 3 October 2015: Bickenhill Grand Prix
I can only be there for the morning session, is there a reduced rate if not staying for lunch?
[Sorry, our buying lunch for everyone is how the venue gets paid for our occupancy of the room, so even if you don't stay to eat it, we still have to pay for it. And, as an aside, not that it applies in your case, I should point out that on such occasions as this we typically lose money on newcomers attending the event, since the discounted rate they pay is not enough to cover their meal, plus contributions of course towards all our other costs in putting-on the event. However, if you have to shoot-off early, we can make sure you leave with copies of the afternoon's quizzes. Cheers, Chris]
