Clockwork Quiz: Leuven

Postby Chris » Tue Apr 03, 2012 7:35 pm

Not exactly a part of the UK scene but an event some attend when they can...

This year's quiz will be on the 26th May. On the same day, in the afternoon, there will be a pairs quiz on the subject of History.

Erik and his friends in Leuven would really appreciate it if any British teams/players who are planning to attend with a view to participating (in either) speak up so they can prepare the necessary translations. I suppose then an early answer (even it is a "no") would be greatly appreciated by our friends in Belgium, Thus far only past regular Andrew Teale has indicated one way or t'other what his plans are.

On the plus side, for anyone who is planning to attend... Bart Parmentier's sister-in-law works in a new hotel near the railway station in Leuven - if bookings are made through her (via Erik) a 'friends and family' discount can be secured.

So, if you've never been before and plan to go, please sing out. Likewise, if like me you're a former attendee, please indicate one way or t'other if you're going to make the trip this year. From memory, those making the trip previously include....

Amber Collins
Barry Simmons
Beth Maclure-Webster
Chris Quinn
Ian Bayley
Jenny Ryan
Kathryn Johnson
Kevin Ashman
Mark Grant
Mick McCarthy
Olav Bjortomt

Chris

A modified Broken Hearts team comprising

Kevin Ashman
Ian Bayley
Olav Bjortomt
Mark Grant

will be attending.

It was a toss up between this and the Nordics in Copenhagen, but we have plumped for continuing our annual tradition of showing our Flemish brethren where the true masters of quiz hail from.

If it's available in translation, we would like to do the afternoon History pairs quiz as well.
