How about Daly (after Richard Daly, reputedly the person who created the word "Quiz")

It seems to me that any name should reflect either the use of the huge question mark above his head, suggestive of him thinking, and/or the purple colour. So.....

(in honour of Dion [ask your Mum, kiddies]) how about "The Ponderer"

Or, the Purple Ponderer.

Or, picking up on the purple aspect

Tyrenia (tyrrenian purple)

Murex (the shellfish from which purple dye was extracted, a typical "quizzer" bit of knowledge)

Porphyra (Greek for purple)

Rumina (as in ruminating)

Brainbox

Cogito ("I think")

Solvus

Dr Know (was it that before?)

Ovcors (from when any quizzer hears an answer he couldn't remember, and immediately exclaims "of course"!)

Didja (as in "didja know John Milton invented the word "pandemonium"? etc)

Bamber (in tribute to Mr Gascoigne - no dear, there was one before the footballer...)

Alternatively, as he clearly knows everything, we could just call him "Son of Gib, Man of Ash"...... :D
