OK, I think maybe he was the only one to take a set off him one year or something. The other possibility I had was Pete Sampras, so I'll give that a go (but I also think I may be getting that the wrong way round).

Neither, it was in the first round in 2002 and the player in question came from the former Yugoslavia.

I thought I had the Sampras thing the wrong way round - I think Federer was the one to finally halt Sampras at Wimbledon.
