March 2019 UK Quest Grand Prix - Provisional Results

Postby Chris » Sat Mar 02, 2019 3:18 pm

Almost all the March UK Quest Grand Prix scores are in are online (link at the foot of this piece). We’re just awaiting scores from one venue (and it’s possible those scores might affect the medal positions) but for now here is a provisional report of the event and medals positions etc.. We’ll keep this under review as the afternoon progresses.

We are grateful to Andrew Frazer for another accessible and entertaining GP set, on which circa half of the field managed to get into three figures. A shout-out to Kevin Ashman who aced the main body of the ACH genre, scoring 30.5. How does he do it?! We also say well done to Ailsa Watson for getting into the medals (Bronze, Lifestyle) and commiserate with a number of players across the piece who just missed-out on Bronze medals by a single tiebreak answer.

We heartily congratulate Pat Gibson who has topped the field, thanks to a narrow 0.2 lead in tiebreakers over Didier Bruyère (132.8 vs 132.6). Both were a ‘comfortable’ 2+ points ahead of Kevin in third place (130.0) with David Stainer (129.6) and David Hesp (129.0) completing the top five.

Here are the medal positions, by genre.
