Well, this is unpopular.

Another clue:

An English rose refers to a native tree/shrub that is a member of the rose family.

The rest are pretty straightforward, and I think once one or two have been found the connection should be apparent.

For 10, I have been waiting for someone to say Kevin Ashman but I cannot see the connection. Do Ascari make quiz machines?

Now we're getting somewhere. Warwick and Irvine are right.

I don't believe Hamilton was traditionally a county town, although it is now. Of course it would fit the connection.

Not that I know of.

A recap.

1. An English rose - Hawthorn - Mike Hawthorn
2. European country
3. Ghost story author
4. Disgraced editrix - Rebekah Brooks- Tony Brooks
5. English county town - Warwick - Derek Warwick
6. Scottish (traditional) county town
7. Larkin's tomb - An Arundel Tomb - Peter Arundell
8. Lord Chancellor - Derry Irvine - Eddie Irvine
9. US singer-songwriter
10. Quiz machine

So five more and odd-one-out to go.
