Continuous Quiz: Movies
Re: Continuous Quiz: Movies
Yes it is a funny film. As it's Halloween I am going to ask a slightly grimmer one. Which actor who is first to die on screen in Once Upon A Time In the West actually killed himself during the film's production by jumping off a roof while still wearing his character's costume?
Re: Continuous Quiz: Movies
A hint so for this apparently difficult question ... This actor is also the first character seen in The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

Re: Continuous Quiz: Movies
Sorry Pete he was the ugly one in The Good The Bad And The Ugly but he wasn't in Once Upon A Time in The West. Besides, he was still around a couple of decades later making Tough Guys with Kirk Douglas and Burt Lancaster. Nice try though.

Re: Continuous Quiz: Movies
I'm sure that Lee VanCleef killed himself!
Re: Continuous Quiz: Movies
Danny - Lee Van Cleef was certainly unlucky in westerns - he lost gunfights to Gary Cooper in High Noon, John Wayne in Liberty Valance and Mitt Romney's mate Clint Eastwood in Good/Bad/Ugly. But he died (naturally) of a shortage of breath a couple of decades after the film in question. The rather mysterious and Canadian (I think!) actor I am looking for is shot by Eli Wallach in the first of these Leone films and by Charles Bronson in the second. Because his suicide occurred during the production and on set of Once Upon a Time in the West it is still debatable whether the actual scene in the finished film is him or a stunt double. Leone had the actor's costume removed for re-use before the body was removed from the scene!
Re: Continuous Quiz: Movies
Guys obviously spaghetti is off the menu. The unfortunate actor in question was Al Mulock a fellow who started out in Tarzan B movies in the 50s. Try this as an alternative question: In the classic Marx Brothers A Night at the Opera what was the opera?
Re: Continuous Quiz: Movies
Il Travatore
