Oxford University Open

Postby neilmac » Mon Jan 23, 2012 8:22 pm

I think most of us who attended the Oxford University open event on Saturday enjoyed it immensely. Look out for it next year! It's basically University Challenge format with 2 league stages leading up to semi finals and final. Milhous Warriors reached the final but lost to an excellent Chicago team.

Thanks Neil.

I am giving some serious thought to running a buzzer tourney (8 teams, perhaps) on the Second Saturday in April THIS YEAR, if there's sufficient interest.

I would definitely like to take part. I've never played in a buzzer quiz before so I really hope you get enough interest to go ahead.

Chris, second Saturday in April is the Mastermind Club weekend in Southampton. Not that I'm able to get to that anyway.

Thanks for the heads-up Anne. Chris

I'm likely to be having endless fun upgrading a database that day. Also - it's Easter weekend so a few people may be away.

ACTUALLY HAVING REALISED WHAT 2ND WEEKEND IN APRIL MEANS I SHOULD BE OK TO ATTEND.

No, no, no. Easter weekend is the FIRST weekend in April - hence our moving the 'April' event to 31 March... Anyway, maybe we'll go to the 3rd Saturday instead? I'm still looking for the 'right' venue.
