A valiant guess Lisa. The Pope I am thinking of was both the father of a later Pope and the son of an earlier one (there were a few of those in the 15th and 16th centuries). The Emerald City is not the one in Oz but is rather located in the Beaver State. By the way I believe we marked each other's answer sheets in Lichfield last June. Hope to run into ya again at one of the GPs in 2012.
