Not that
Re: Contuinuous Quiz - Music
I feel sure I know this... but can't be sure in summoning it to memory.
However, as I have some kind of cerebral itch which needs scratching... was it Rocket Man, as my inner impulses seem to be whispering?

On the money, Ken. Her version of Rocket Man reached No 12.

Re: Contuinuous Quiz - Music
I knew that one also, but Ken got there first.
It's a track on an interesting album called Two Rooms (I think) which features covers of Elton John songs by other well known artists. Funnily enough, the previous answer is also on there, with Hall & Oates' version of Philidelphia Freedom.
Anyway, I'll stop rambling now (cheers from the back) & leave the floor open for Ken.

Thanks Pete.
Yes, I have the album too.
Try this.
Which song, and by whom, which was a Canadian No 1 in 1981, but not a hit elsewhere, makes references to The Maltese Falcon, together with other sound effects and voice impressions from other films and stars of the era?

Re: Contuinuous Quiz - Music
Interesting question Ken, I have all the Canadian, Aussie, USA, Belgian and Dutch no 1's of 1981 but there aren't any that reference The Maltese Falcon or other films and sound effects. The nearest thing was maybe Key Largo by Bertie Higgins but that is only top 10 and also a minor UK hit so it can't be that. I'm intrigued, it's a good question and certainly got me thinking. Just wondering what else it could be unless I'm forgetting something obvious.
