Yep one right so far Colin well done, that was the one that came to mind first for me and I was going to ask 'only' act until I researched it and found another. Will let you think about the other one a bit longer then, see how you go. The 'King' part of the answer though is quite obscure only making the lower echelons of the UK chart but was a hit so is included, good luck to you and others.

A guess (in the hope that he had a minor hit which I have forgotten):

Caribbean Queen would be the Queen part certainly, unfortunately no King hit for Billy so incorrect I'm afraid.

There doesn't seem to be any takers on the 'King' and 'Queen' question so I'll give you a clue. The man you're looking for had a number one single in 1970, had previously charted as a member of a one hit wonder group in 1968 and later produced the comeback hit for the Everly Brothers in 1984 'On the Wings of a Nightingale'. I'm sure somebody will work it out from that.

In that case, Dave Edmunds springs to mind - I get "Queen Of Hearts" but don't recall a "king" hit. Then again, I know you go down to the Top 75 (or is it Top 100), so it will probably have passed my by.

Yep Dave Edmunds is the answer Pete well done. Chart books go as low as top 75 in the UK in terms of hits and top 100 in the USA.The missing 'King' answer was 'King of Love' which appears on his greatest hits CD and for completists reached no 68 in the UK in 1990.

Thanks NPQ. Lots of 70s stuff on TV at the moment, so...
Which UK Top 10 hit from the 70s features a refrain of "Oh I Do Like To Be Beside the Seaside" on its fade out?

Sticking with Queen, on which album did Seven Seas of Rhye first appear?
