Mindsweep 2014 (Karnataka Quiz Association)

Postby Chris » Sun May 04, 2014 4:13 pm

Sunday 18th May will see a number of UK quizzers meet up for a UK leg of the KQA's annual 'Mindsweep' individual quiz - KQA being the Bangalore-based 'Karnataka Quizzing Association'. Anyway, there's no finer way to tease and tempt your grey cells - for an idea of a typical question in one of these papers, think quiz combined with a good Agatha Christie plot.

This quiz has been very well supported in the past (we usually get a dozen or so together) and we will once again be meeting at the Rolleston Club, Rolleston on Dove, going over to the Spread Eagle for luncheon afterwards. Give me a nudge if you fancy joining us. We'll be looking to start the quiz at 12.00 noon.

£1 Nominal fee to cover printing etc..

Session I (12.00-13.00 hrs): The Arts, Literature, Cinema, Music, Sports Leisure
Session II (13.30-14.30 hrs): Business, Science Tech, Food Drink, Social Sciences, Travel

The quiz has been tweaked a little this year. In response to feedback over reading time from takers who do not normally read in English, the final placings will be determined on the basis of your best 8 scores. Individuals may thus attempt all 200, or drop a set of 20 questions in each half. In the event of a tie, the contestant who has attempted more sections/or scored higher in the dropped sections, in that order, will take precedence.
